About Payments

Keystone Speech Therapy LLC accepts private pay in the following forms of payment: credit, debit, and HSA (health savings account)/FSA (flexible spending account) cards.  Payments are due after the time of service (we use IvyPay where you will get a link to enter your payment information).  We currently are an out-of-network provider for all insurance companies.

No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimates

Beginning January 1, 2022, if you are uninsured or if you opt for self-pay (i.e., not going through your health insurance), health care providers must give you an estimate of the expected charges before you get an item or service. This is called a good faith estimate (GFE).  Providers must give you a GFE if you request one, or after you’ve scheduled a service. It should include the expected charges for all items or services that are provided as part of the same scheduled experience. The provider must give a list of all items and services associated with your care.  For more information, please visit the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) website at www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

About Your Privacy

Nothing is more important than your privacy, especially when working online. That's why Keystone Speech Therapy LLC follows the strictest of guidelines. In order to be HIPAA compliant, Keystone Speech Therapy LLC and Google have jointly signed a Business Associate Agreement (BAA). This bars Google from data mining emails, files, and GoogleMeet video conferencing. Keystone Speech Therapy LLC  also uses a HIPAA compliant EMR (electronic medical records system) for client intakes, consent forms, and reports.  Your private information is secure.

Concerned about private pay?  Things to think about:

  • Do you have a co-pay?  Compare that to our session rate.  Keep in mind, many insurances' copay is equal and sometimes more than the therapy cost of a typical session at our private practice.

  • What is your yearly deductible?  Some insurance plans might have a very high deductible that might not be met if people went through insurance. Usually, simple articulation clients don't need $5000/year in therapy and won't hit their deductible anyways.

  • Do you have an HSA (health savings account) or FSA (flexible spending account) that you could use to pay for speech services?

  • Does your insurance plan include out-of-network benefits? Prior to services, we encourage you to contact your insurance company and ask if you are eligible for reimbursement for out-of-network speech services.  If services are covered, we can provide you with a SUPERBILL (detailed, itemized receipt) if requested.  A superbill would include the necessary information for you to submit to your insurance company to get reimbursed for services.

Benefits of Private Pay

  • There is no need for a doctor's referral or prior authorization from your insurance company to start services.

  • The adult client or parent/legal guardian gets to decide which clinician is best to meet the client's needs rather than having an insurance company decide.

  • Not having to deal with insurance companies means less claims and paperwork for the clinician, giving more time to focus on the client.

  • More services are allowed without restrictions (e.g. Teletherapy).

  • There is no limit on the amount of sessions allowed.  The adult client or parent/legal guardian can collaborate with the clinician to meet the client's needs.

  • You can stay with your preferred clinician even if your insurance plan coverage changes.
